USB-C fast charging
Buying a USB-C power bank: what should you check?
USB-C makes power banks more practical: modern phones charge faster, you need fewer different cables and the power bank itself can often recharge more quickly.

Check how many watts the USB-C port can deliver. For phones, 18W to 30W is often enough. Tablets and laptops usually need more.
Input
A power bank with USB-C input can recharge faster. This matters especially with 20,000 mAh models, where older micro-USB input can feel unnecessarily slow.
Cables
Your cable must support fast charging too. A good USB-C cable prevents slow charging and unreliable connections.
What is USB-C Power Delivery?
Power Delivery is a USB-C charging standard where the device and charger agree how much power is needed. That makes fast charging safer and more efficient. A phone asks for less power than a laptop, and a good power bank adapts accordingly.
Who needs USB-C?
USB-C is especially useful if you use a recent iPhone, Android phone, tablet, e-reader or camera. It is also helpful if you do not want to carry several chargers and cables. For older accessories, USB-A can still be useful, so a combination of USB-C and USB-A is practical.
Our advice
In 2026, choose a power bank with USB-C input and output where possible. Combine that with 10,000 mAh for everyday use or 20,000 mAh for travel and emergency reserve.
