Heated clothing for hiking and mountain days
Irish hikes can move from mild to cold very quickly, especially on exposed ridges, coastal paths and wet upland routes. Heated clothing gives flexible warmth when wind, rain or long breaks make ordinary layers feel insufficient.
Best hiking setup
A heated bodywarmer works well as a mid layer. Wear it over a base layer and under a waterproof shell. Turn heat down while climbing and increase it during breaks, descents or windy viewpoints.
Useful extras
Heated gloves can support hand comfort when using maps, phones or trekking poles in cold weather. A powerbank can also back up essential devices, but keep enough charge for your heated layer.
Pack smart
Heated clothing should complement, not replace, proper hiking gear. Always bring waterproofs, food, water and suitable navigation for the route.
