Trekking without mains power: staying warm outdoors

Multi-day trekking, camping and remote outdoor trips require careful energy planning. Heated clothing can be useful, but only when you manage battery capacity sensibly.

Choose lightweight warmth

A heated vest is easier to pack than a bulky spare coat and can be worn in camp, during cold mornings or on exposed breaks.

Powerbank planning

Bring enough capacity for your trip length and reserve power for essential devices. Keep the powerbank dry and avoid relying on a single battery for everything.

Use heat strategically

Do not run the highest setting all day. Use heat during the coldest periods and reduce it once you are comfortable.

Build a compact setup with heated bodywarmers, powerbanks and heated gloves.
