How does a heated vest work?

A heated vest looks like a normal bodywarmer, but inside it are thin heating elements that warm key areas of the upper body. When connected to a suitable powerbank, the vest produces adjustable warmth around the chest and back.

Heating zones

Most heated vests focus on the core because that is where warmth makes the biggest difference. Heat zones around the back and chest help the body feel more comfortable without needing a very bulky winter coat.

Powerbank and heat settings

The vest is powered by a rechargeable battery or USB powerbank. Lower settings usually give longer runtime, while the highest setting is useful for short periods of intense cold. Battery life depends on capacity, outside temperature and the heat level used.

Is it safe?

Choose heated clothing with proper safety features and follow the care instructions. Remove the powerbank before washing and do not use damaged cables or connectors.

An Ode to Gløde!

After the Øney from Gløde, which is super comfortable for outdoor riding lessons, I've now also tried their bodywarmer for indoor riding, and it's fantastic too! The elastic sides ensure a perfect fit and allow for plenty of freedom of movement. The control panels are on the outside, making it very easy to adjust the temperature on the go.
