Heat pads and arthritis comfort
Heat can feel soothing for some people with stiff or cold-sensitive joints. A heated cushion or heat pad may provide local warmth during rest, reading or quiet moments at home.
This page is for general comfort information only. Heat pads are not a cure or treatment for arthritis. Speak with your doctor, physiotherapist or pharmacist before using heat therapy if you have arthritis, reduced sensation, diabetes, swelling, skin problems or any medical concern.
Using heat safely
- Use moderate warmth, not extreme heat.
- Do not use on damaged or irritated skin.
- Do not fall asleep while using a heated product.
- Stop using it if it feels uncomfortable.
- Follow the product instructions carefully.
